In the early months of 2020 I was feeling ready for a change. I had been working in the same job for about two years and had just enjoyed a life changing holiday in Japan a few months back. When later in the year we were all forced to stay home, my feelings of wanderlust only amplified. Looking to accomplish something positive during our time stuck inside, my partner and I both signed up for the myTEFL 120 hour course and found it intellectually stimulating and extremely fun. The course covered every question that I had about teaching (and more) and made me feel fully equipped to teach in classrooms around the world in the near future. Beyond just teaching language, the course offered fabulous tips for leadership and feedback that I feel I can apply in my existing career, so even if I never decide to teach abroad, I’ll be able to apply the skills learned in the course to better myself in my professional and personal life. MyTEFL has given me a light at the end of the tunnel that was 2020!
