Earlier in July, I started my journey with myTEFL because of my desire to teach abroad. I got an offer with a British school in Colombia and one of the basic requirements for processing my visa was a TEFL certificate.

Luckily, I was able to register with myTEFL and their 40-hour online course was the key towards securing my visa to the country.

My first week of teaching was completely different from my expectations but with the training and exposure I got during my course, I was able teach and relate to my students. There are a lot of differences between my country and Colombia in terms of teaching and learning but it’s an experience I am glad I prepared myself for. I didn’t think I needed to do an online English class since I could speak, read, and write well but I now know better.
