By accessing Footprints Language Education Ltd.'s myTEFL.com and myTEFL.ca (hereafter “FLE”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions of Use, all applicable laws and regulations, and that you are responsible for compliance with any applicable local laws. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing FLE course materials. The materials contained in this website are protected by applicable copyright and trademark law.

2. User License

You may only use this website for lawful purposes in connection with the company’s services. You may not:
a. sell, distribute, license, or otherwise exploit, in whole or in part, any content included on this website;
b. copy, alter, translate, or otherwise modify any content included on this website;
c. remove or obscure the copyright notice appearing on any content or otherwise use any content in a manner that infringes FLE’s rights;
d. modify, disassemble, decompile, reverse engineer, or apply any technique to derive the source code or other proprietary information, except as expressly permitted by law;
e. reveal any access code or password to the website without prior written consent of FLE. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activities under your account.

3. Disclaimer

The materials on the website are provided “as is.” FLE makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and disclaims all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non‑infringement. FLE does not warrant the accuracy, likely results, or reliability of use of the materials.

4. Limitations

In no event shall FLE or its suppliers be liable for any damages (including loss of data, profit, or business interruption) arising from the use or inability to use the materials, even if FLE has been notified of the possibility of such damage. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FLE against all claims arising from misuse of this site.

5. Revisions & Errata

The materials on the website may include inaccuracies or typographical errors. FLE may correct or update the materials at any time without notice, and makes no warranties regarding the materials.

6. Links

FLE has not reviewed all sites linked to its website and is not responsible for their contents. Inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement. Use of linked sites is at your own risk.

7. Refund Policy

a) Online TEFL Courses:

Enrollment is final once fees are paid. No refunds are offered after enrollment.

b) Onsite TEFL Courses:

25% deposit is non‑refundable; remaining fees are due 60 days before start date. Failure to pay forfeits deposit. FLE may cancel courses up to 30 days before start and issue a full refund of fees paid; FLE is not liable for other costs.

c) Internship Programs:

Deposits are required per program; balance due per schedule. Unsuitable applicants receive full refund (less course fee if accessed). Once accepted or start date confirmed, all fees are non‑refundable; deferrals at FLE’s discretion and may incur fees.

Payment schedule for Internships:

  • Thailand: 60 days before Departure Date
  • South Africa: 60 days before Departure Date
  • Argentina: 7 days after the video interview
  • Mexico: 7 days after the video interview
  • Cambodia: 21 days after initial acceptance
  • Vietnam: 21 days after initial acceptance
  • Costa Rica: 60 days before departure date
  • Hungary: 60 days before departure date
  • 8. Course Expiry

    To receive your TEFL certificate, all course components must be completed within 90 days of receiving login details. Failure to do so voids certification and refunds. Extensions are available for a fee.

    9. Site Terms of Use Modification

    FLE may revise these Terms & Conditions at any time without notice. Continued use indicates acceptance of updated terms.

    10. Academic Integrity

    Assignments, quizzes, tests, and exams must be completed independently. Plagiarism or sharing course content online results in removal and forfeiture of certificate and fees.

    11. Failed Units

    An average score of 65% is required to pass. One automatic resit is allowed; additional resits require tutor support.

    12. JOB PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE

    a. Scope of Service:
    i. FLE (myTEFL.com and myTEFL.ca) provides Job Placement Assistance to graduates for as long as these sites remain operational.
    ii. Assistance includes review and formatting of application materials, verifying document validity, and introductions to partner employers.

    b. No Employment Guarantee:
    i. Assistance does not guarantee employment. Outcomes depend on individual qualifications, employer requirements, and local regulations.
    ii. FLE is not an employer and does not set hiring criteria or control employer decisions.

    c. Employer Requirements & Local Regulations:
    i. Employers or authorities may impose age limits, degree requirements, health checks, or other criteria not used in Canada or the U.S.
    ii. Such requirements are solely employers’ or regulators’ decisions.

    d. Graduate Responsibilities:
    i. Graduates must respond promptly and keep materials current.
    ii. All costs for visas, travel, background checks, licenses, insurance, and relocation are the graduate’s responsibility.

    e. Data Sharing & Privacy:
    i. By enrolling, graduates consent to sharing application materials with partner employers.
    ii. Data handling is governed by FLE’s Privacy Policy.

    f. Limitation of Liability & Indemnity:
    i. FLE is not liable for any loss, damage, or expense arising from placements, employment, disputes, dismissal, or workplace conduct.
    ii. Graduates agree to indemnify and hold harmless FLE and affiliates against any related claims.

    g. Dispute Resolution:
    Any disputes under this clause follow Section 13.

    13. ASSUMPTION OF RISK & RELEASE OF LIABILITY

    a. Acknowledgment of Risk:
    You acknowledge that living and working abroad entails risks of injury, illness, property damage, or other harm from factors beyond FLE’s control, including local laws, workplace conditions, transportation, health care standards, or political instability.

    b. No Liability for Injury or Illness:
    To the fullest extent permitted by law, FLE and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any injury, illness, death, damage, or loss of any kind suffered abroad.

    c. Insurance Requirement:
    You must obtain and maintain comprehensive health, accident, disability, evacuation, and liability insurance covering any overseas placement, at your own expense.

    d. Release & Indemnification:
    You release and hold harmless FLE and its Released Parties from any and all claims arising from injury, illness, death, or loss abroad, and agree to indemnify for any related costs or legal fees.

    e. Survival:
    This section survives termination of course access or placement assistance.

    13. GOVERNING LAW & DISPUTE RESOLUTION

    a. Governing Law:
    These Terms & Conditions, including all services and placement assistance, are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.

    b. Jurisdiction:
    Any legal action or proceeding shall be brought exclusively in the courts of British Columbia.

    c. Mediation & Arbitration:
    Before litigation, parties agree to mediation in Vancouver, BC. If unresolved, disputes may go to arbitration under BCICAC rules.
